In the book of John chapter 5, there is an account of a man laying at the pool of Bethesda who had an infirmity for 38 years, waiting to be healed in waters stirred by an angel. The Bible tells of the man being asked by Jesus whether or not he wanted to be healed. He responds to Jesus by saying, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” Immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. Wow! What a miracle! Thirty-eight years and all of a sudden he's healed?! What gives? I can tell you that it's one answer-- Decision coupled with faith.
Our decisions coupled with faith are powerful opportunities to change our circumstances. This man had been sitting and waiting to be healed for 38 years. Just like him, there are times when we sit and wait for someone to come along, and help us. However, this scripture asks us this: "Do we want to be healed?" If so, don't just lie there...GET UP AND MOVE! Jesus is asking all of us this same question on a daily basis, and now I'm asking you today, "Do you want to be healed, your situation to change, or your life to be transformed?" If so, then GET UP AND MOVE towards your healing. Make a decision coupled with faith to MOVE! It's amazing how the gentleman was able to get up once told to do so. Could it be that some of us may need to be told GET UP AND MOVE? I know that I've made this decision many times in my life. I've had to MOVE when no one else would come along and help me. I've had to decide what I wanted, and in faith begin moving towards the solution, healing, or transformation that I needed at that time. Your life is but a vapor (James 4:14), and God has much for you to do while you are here. The last thing He wants you to do is sit around, and wait for someone else to come help you to your own healing. TODAY IS YOUR DAY! READY! SET! MOVE!
